The Bottineau 19U girls hockey team played the visitor in all three games at the Jamestown Jamboree this past weekend, and apparently were comfortable with that role as they won all three games.
Bottineau began with a 5-0 shutout victory over Prairie Storm Bantams from Regina, Sask. on Friday evening.
Goalie Jacie Ceglowski came up big in net for Bottineau stopping all 37 shots that came her way to earn her fourth shutout of the season.
Natalie Bahr did most of the damage for Bottineau as she scored three times, including the game-winner in the first period.
Ashley Blue scored twice and added an assist, while Karlie McCloud had two assists in the victory.
Bahr’s second goals in the third period came while Bottineau was shorthanded. It was during one of four Bottineau penalties in the contest, all for body checking.
Bottineau fared just as well Saturday beginning with a 9-3 matinee win over Fargo 19U.
Bottineau jumped out to a 2-0 lead after Bahr scored on a Blue assist and Blue scored on a Bahr assist.
After Fargo scored at 6:31 in the first, Bottineau Captain Morgan Klebe extended the Bottineau lead. Blue assisted.
Blue later hit the eventual game-winner at 15:35 in period one. Bahr recorded her second of four assists on the play.
Blue would get another goal and one more assist to put her at four goals and three assists for the game.
The other three goals for Bottineau were scored by Shelby Pedie from Bahr and Bailey Neubauer and a pair of goals came from Alyssa Acheson.
Neubauer notched assists on both Acheson goals as well.
Ceglowski stopped 27-of-30 Fargo shots in the win.
Bottineau closed out the jamboree with a 6-2 win over the BW Blades (Wahpeton).
Bottineau out shot the Blades 33-13 to cruise past them for their 13th victory of the year.
Bottineau trailed for the first time on the weekend after the Blades’ Hannah Meyer scored in the first period.
Bottineau didn’t trail long as Blue notched an unassisted marker to tie the game at one.
Before the period was over the Blades would jump back on top 2-1 thanks to Laura Berger.
Bottineau would again even the score early in the second period as Bahr got an unassisted goal.
Bottineau would not look back as Blue would score four consecutive goals in the second period to push Bottineau to the 6-2 win.
Assisting on two of the goals were Bahr and Klebe. The final goal came on the power play.
Bottineau is now 13-3 on the season, following the three wins.
They will get a break as they don’t play again until Feb. 4 when they host Watford City.
Following the 11 goal, three assist weekend Blue now has 52 goals and 10 assists on the season to lead Bottineau.
Blue scored a team-record 96 goals last season.
