DCB alumni showcase their athletic skills in the sporting world

Former athletes of Dakota College at Bottineau are making a great showing in the world of sports after graduating or moving on from DCB.

Presently, there are 29 former Lumberjacks and Ladyjacks playing at a variety of different levels in a number of sport leagues. From the National Hockey League, to Collegiate Clubs, and everywhere in between, the students have made a positive mark in the world of sports.

Lumberjack hockey leads the way with 18 former players still participating in the game, while men’s football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball and women’s fast pitch have a combined number of 11 players.

The following includes the student/athletes and where they are participating in their sports:

Women’s BasketballAllison Scherr - Valley City State and Shannon Smith - Sienna Heights U in Adrian, MI.
Women’s Fast Pitch Softball Brittne Wersal - Black Hills State and Keysha Jansen - Minot State.

Scott Johnson, athletic director of Dakota College at Bottineau, is pleased to see these fellow students of DCB still participating in the sports they played in at the college.

“We strive to provide student athletes with the tools they need to excel at Dakota College at Bottineau, both academically and athletically,” Johnson said. “It is exciting that the players, which have moved on to participate at another level, show the commitment it takes to be successful.
