Bottineau 19U sweeps Miles City at home

The Bottineau 19U hockey team swept visiting Miles City in a series this past weekend to improve to 9-2 on the season.
The wins extended the Bottineau win streak to eight games this season, as they had previously won all three games in the Bismarck Jamboree, beaten Sidney, Mont. and swept a series against Glasgow, Mont.
Bottineau beat Miles City on Friday by a score of 6-1 for their eighth win of the season.
Bottineau jumped out to an early 1-0 lead as Ashley Blue scored an unassisted marker at 1:42 in the first period.
Bottineau would then go on a run beginning in the second period scoring five unanswered goals and take a 6-0 lead.
Jump starting the scoring in the second was Captain Morgan Klebe who scored on passes from Blue and Alyssa Acheson.
Blue would then score two more goals of her own within 19 seconds of each other later in the second period. Shelby Pedie assisted on the first and Natalie Bahr assisted on the second.
To close out the second period and give Bottineau a 5-0 lead Tiffany Schuster scored five-hole on Lady Generals goaltender Kelsie Hopkins. Sonja Gilje and Karlee McCloud assisted.
Rounding out the scoring for Bottineau was Bailey Neubauer, who was assisted by Bahr.
Bottineau goaltender Jacie Ceglowski lost her shutout as she was unable to stop a shot from Alexus Huziker at 11:22 in the third period.
Ceglowski had nine saves, as Bottineau out shot Miles City 45-10.
If Saturday’s game was a good one for Bottineau, Sunday’s was even better. That’s because Bottineau shutout the Lady Generals 8-0, in a dominating performance.
Bottineau out shot Miles City once again on Sunday, this time by a margin of 41-5.
Ceglowski combined with Natalie Bahr for the shutout. Ceglowski stopped four shots, in two periods, while Bahr had one in one period of action.
Scoring for Bottineau came from multiple sources in the game. Starting it off was Blue, her fourth goal of the weekend. An assist came from Neubauer on the play.
Erin Severson scored at 3:50 in the first period as she took assists from Schuster and McCloud to make it 2-0 Bottineau.
The third straight Bottineau goal came with 11 ticks left in the opening period as Bahr pushed it past Hopkins. Acheson was credited with an assist.
Bottineau would not stop in the second barraging Hopkins for another period and scoring four more times.
Klebe scored twice in the period with assists coming from Pedie and Blue.
Also scoring in the period were Blue and Bahr. Klebe assisted on the Blue goal and Pedie and Gilje assisted on the Bahr goal.
Closing out the scoring at 1:57 in the final period was Blue, who took it down the ice herself for an unassisted goal, her third of the game and sixth of the weekend.
Bottineau was 1-for-3 on the power play and a perfect 5-for-5 on the penalty kill.
Bottineau will play two more games this weekend beginning at 3 p.m. on Saturday at Watford City, and ending with a noon game at Bismarck on Sunday.
