19U takes three at Bismarck Jamboree

The Bottineau 19U girls hockey team, under the leadership and talent of Ashley Blue won all three of the matches in the Bismarck Jamboree this past weekend.

First on Friday Bottineau survived a prolonged battle against the Mayport Ice Dawgs wtih a 9-8 overtime win.
Trailing by two, late in the third period Blue scored the final two goals in regulation at 1:12 and with 36 seconds left to send the game to overtime.

Blue then hit the game-winner in overtime to cinch it for Bottineau. The OT goal was Blue’s fifth of the game. Natalie Bahr assisted.

Bahr opened the game with an unassisted goal early in the first.

She then notched a second goal at 10:43 in the first to put Bottineau up 2-1; Blue assisted.

Later in the period Erin Severson scored to make it 3-1 Bottineau. Getting helpers on the play were Bailey Neubauer and Karlee McCloud.

The same combo that notched the game-winner in OT also notched the same-style goal to close out the Bottineau scoring in the first period.

Two unanswered Mayport goals closed the first with a 4-3 Bottineau lead.

Mayport would charge ahead in the second taking a 5-5 lead after two Olivia Knutson goals.

The lone Bottineau marker in the period came from Bahr, who was assisted by Blue.

After an early Ice Dawgs goal in the third period Blue would draw Bottineau within one after notching an unassisted marker at 10:32. Mayport would score twice more to make it 8-6 until Blue made her final surges to give Bottineau the win.

Net minder Jacie Ceglowski had 20 saves on 28 Mayport shots.  

Game two between Bottineau and the Langdon Blades proved to be much more one-sided, but again that side agreed with Bottineau in a 7-0 win.
Bottineau took an early 3-0 lead through one thanks to a pair of goals by captain Morgan Klebe and a Blue goal.

Blue also asssisted on one of the Klebe goals. Also with helpers in the period were Severson and Bahr.
Bottineau would add four more goals in the second period that brought it to the final score of 7-0.
Scoring in the period were Blue, Severson, Sonja Gilje and Neubauer.

Assists were credited to McCloud, Shelby Pedie (two) and Neubauer.

Ceglowski was strong in net, earning the shutout with six saves. Bottineau out shot Langdon 57-6.

Bottineau closed out their successful weekend with a 5-2 win over the 14U team, the Fargo Freeze.
Bottineau used a strong second half of the game to ‘Freeze’ out their opponent.

Blue scored four unassisted goals in the win, including the game-winner at 11:25 of the second period. Also with an unassisted goal for Bottineau was McCloud.
Ceglowski had a strong effort in net stopping 40 of 42 Freeze shots. Bottineau was out shot by Fargo 14U 42-33.

Bottineau will next play a 3:45 p.m. game on Jan. 7 at home against Miles City.
