If the oil industry comes into Bottineau County this upcoming year with a large number of employees, finding a place to live in the city of Bottineau will be difficult because Bottineau’s aldermen during the December council made the agreement of not allowing man camps in the city.
The oil industry has shown an interest in placing man camps in the city of Bottineau. During the council meeting on Monday evening, the ordinance committee requested direction in regards to man camps.
The consensus of the council was not to allow the man camps in the city limits, which extends a half mile out of Bottineau.
Over the past months, numerous towns in North Dakota have banned man camps from their city limits, with the latest two towns being Glen Ullin and Almont, which voted down man camps last week in their communities.
