The Bottineau 19U girl’s hockey team dropped two games this past weekend to fall to 1-2 on the season.
First on Saturday afternoon they hosted the Mandan High School girls hockey team.

After a slow first half of the game, Mandan jump-started the scoring with goals in the second and beginning of the third period.

Bottineau’s Ashley Blue would draw the game within one at 7:22 in the third, but Mandan’s Solvei Stenslie scored twice in the period to help the Braves finish with a 4-1 win.

Bottineau goaltender Jacie Ceglowski did stop 25-of-29 Mandan shots, but Mandan goaltender Chelsea Norton stopped 18-of-19 in route to the win.

It was Mandan’s first win of the season.

Bottineau’s woes continued on Sunday as they traveled to Crosby and lost an overtime squeaker 2-1.
Again a scoreless first period opened up to a 1-0 lead in the second when Crosby’s Gaby Wisness scored.

At 8:22 in the third period Blue scored on a power play marker to tie the game and force overtime.

However after nearly six minutes of the extra period Crosby’s Ciara Sorum made the game-winner on a shorthanded break away.

In the contest Bottineau out shot Crosby 26-25, but the overtime goal was the only shot on net for either team.

Ceglowski made 23 saves for Bottineau in the loss.

Bottineau will next play this weekend with a double header in Glasgow, Mont. on Saturday, and then will play in Sidney, Mont. on Sunday.
