Bottineau Stars senior Whitney Page does it all.
Her name is often on top of the kills list on the Stars box score, in fact it is often on top of most of the categories.

Which is why it was no surprise to anyone, especially her coach when she was named Region 6 Athlete of the Year last Thursday.

“She deserves it,” Bullinger said. “She has worked really hard. She is a talented athlete, academically strong and motivated in life in general.”

“She is a really quality person, so she deserves it for sure,” Bullinger added.

Page, who had 34 kills and seven blocks in the tournament, as well as 20 digs in a 3-1 win over Our Redeemer’s in the semifinals, was humble about receiving the award.

“I wouldn’t have this if I didn’t have a great team,” Page said. “It takes a good pass, it takes a good set, and then there I am to hit it. It takes a team.”

The Stars playoff run came to a bittersweet end as, for the second consecutive year, the Kenmare Honkers eliminated the Stars one win from a Class B State Playoff berth.

Page was the team leader in kills 353 and blocks 91. She also had 239 digs.
She finished with 818 career kills, and 320 career blocks in her varsity career at BHS.
