Ladyjacks sign Rugby’s Deckert

Dakota College at Bottineau’s (DCB) women’s basketball team picked up a local signing last week in the form of Rugby senior guard Darby Deckert.

Deckert had a successful final season with the Panthers, who finished as Class B District 11 champions. Rugby won two games at this year’s Region 6 tournament before falling in the final to the eventual state title winners from Minot Bishop Ryan.

Deckert finished the season as both an All-District 11 honoree as well as a selection on the All-Region 6 team. She had also been named an All-District 11 selection in her junior season.

In her senior season at RHS, she averaged 11 points and eight rebounds per game.

“We most truly value her attitude and work ethic, both on the court and in the classroom,” DCB head coach Wayne Johnson said. 

“We are excited to have Darby join the Ladyjack family.”
