The leader in Dakota College at Bottineau’s (DCB) hockey team’s locker room last season was also a leading light throughout the sport’s junior college level.
Alex Herman, a sophomore forward from Sidney, Mont., was named last week as a first-team NJCAA All-American selection. He was the only Lumberjack hockey player named to the national honors list.
Herman started in 25 games for DCB last season and collected six goals and four assists.
“Alex is very deserving of this honor and has been a great leader on and off the ice, as well as the classroom, Jacks head coach Travis Rybchinski said.
“He has the respect of his peers, opponents and coaching staff. Most of all, he is a good person. We will sure miss him around here.”
