Bottineau novice hockey team wins league title

The staff at Bottineau Community Arena are going to need to make room in the rafters for another championship banner.

The Bottineau Novice Purple hockey team recently won the South West Recreation Hockey League title at the end of the league’s 2015 tournament in Virden, Manitoba. The Braves had finished their 2014-15 regular season with an 11- 6-1 record before heading north and winning the playoff championship.

Ryan Getzlaff was Bottineau’s head coach this past season. Rob Siemens served as the team’s assistant coach.

The Braves’ roster was made up of Tukker Fedje, Harleigh Parisien, Lucas Getzlaff, Zakary Mora, Peyton Getzlaff, Landon Siemens, Korban Bowers, Gavin Honsey, Khaliel Abdurrahman, Noah Bedlion, Elsa Sathre, Tallie Fedje and Brooks Siemens.
