Contained brine spill near Maxbass

According to the Department of Mineral Resources, a contained brine spill has taken place just north of Maxbass which saw close to 300 barrels of saltwater released through a faulty connection at the site.

The spill took place six miles north of Maxbass at the Petro Harvester Operating Company, LLC, where 285 barrels of brine was released into the berm site.

The saltwater did stay in the contained site and was recovered.
The leak came from a faulty piping connection.

A state inspector was at the site and is conducting an investigation.
