GRAND FORKS - The Bottineau under-12 and under-14 girls hockey team finished second place last weekend at the North Dakota Amateur Hockey Association (NDAHA) tournament in Grand Forks for their age group.
The pool-format tournament opened on Friday when Bottineau downed Jamestown 1-0. Later that day, Bottineau played again, this time downing Fargo Gray by a 7-2 count.
Bottineau then took its 2-0 tournament record into a showdown on Saturday against the host team, the Grand Forks Wild. Bottineau moved to 3-0 in the competition thanks to a 4-1 win over the Wild.
On Sunday, Bottineau faced Devils Lake in the teams’ final pool game and the tournament’s de facto championship game at the Icon Sports Center.
Unfortunately for Bottineau, it came up short in an eventual 4-1 defeat to Devils Lake.
Bottineau finished its 2014-15 season with a 20-6 record.
