It been nearly 30 years since downtown Willow City has seen a new building in its downtown business section, but last Tuesday a new structure was placed on Main Street, a business that will be able to assist all of Willow City and its surrounding areas.

On Tuesday, HUWE house movers out of Minot brought Northern Tier Federal Credit Union of Willow City’s (NTFCU) new building into town and placed the structure right next to the credit union’s present building.

The present structure the NTFCU is in is getting older and lacks the space and technology the credit union would like to see in its business. The new building is larger in size in the lobby and office space and is more functional to the needs of its employees and patrons.

With the early, warm weather the area has seen in March, HUWE wasn’t able to place the building on its foundation because of the ground being wet and muddy. The moving company placed the structure just above the foundation and is waiting for the ground to dry and settle, at which time HUWE will come back and place the building on the foundation.

Once the utilities are hooked up, the staff of NTFCU in Willow City will move into the new building and open the doors.
Shelly Vollmer, branch manager of Willow City’s Northern Tier Federal Credit Union, stated that she is happy to move into the new credit union and is excited for individuals to see and utilize the newest addition on Willow City’s Main Street.

“I’m excited,” Vollmer said. “I can’t wait to get inside the building.”
