Elk license bill passes in Senate

A bill that will allow Annie’s House to sell an elk license for a fundraiser event was passed in the senate last week and will now crossover to see if the house will approve the bill.

Senate Bill 2017, a bill for an act to provide an appropriation for defraying the expenses of the game and fish department, which holds an amendment that will allow Annie’s House to be granted one elk license to sell for the advancement of the park’s adaptive activities.

The bill was introduced by the appropriation committee at the request of Gov. Jack Dalrymple and was passed by the appropriation committee 16 to 0 and by the senate on Wednesday, Feb. 25, with a unanimous vote of 47-0.

Senate Bill 2017 will now crossover to the house and to see if the representatives will passed the bill.

Outside the elk license that Annie’s House could receive, five other organization could receive a wildlife license for a raffle event, which includes: The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation – elk license; North American Wildlife Enforcement Memorial Museum – moose license; Mule Deer Foundation – mule deer license; Minnesota-Wisconsin Chapter of the Wild Sheep Foundation – bighorn sheep license with the proceeds coming back to North Dakota and the North Dakota Hunter Education Association – antelope license.
