Westhope-Newburg’s (W-N) boys’ basketball team is still chasing its first win of the season after a pair of losses to District 11 rivals last week.

What the Sioux have picked up, though, is a key weapon that seems to be getting better with each passing game.

The bad short-term news for W-N is that a pair of losses last week dropped the Sioux to an 0-6 finish in District 11 play. The good news, however, is more long-term and might get even better going forward.

In a 51-48 loss to Towner-Granville-Upham (T-G-U) on Tuesday in Westhope, Wyman finished with a team-high 15 points. W-N then lost at home again on Friday by a 62-53 count to Velva, but Wyman ended the loss to the Aggies with 30 points.

W-N will visit Minot Bishop Ryan tonight at 7:15 in the Sioux’s only game this week.
