The Bottineau High girls’ basketball team is heading into this week’s Class B District 11 tournament on something of a hot streak.
After falling 48-42 at Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood (M-L-S) last Monday, the Stars reeled off a pair of wins to cap their 2014-15 regular season. Bottineau toppled Our Redeemer’s 52-49 in overtime on Thursday in Minot before downing Kenmare 56-36 on the road on Friday.
In the win over Our Redeemer’s, BHS senior guard Stephanie Brenden finished with 24 points. The final four were all of the Stars’ points scored in the extra period.
Fellow senior Kennedy Olson led the way for the Stars in their win over Kenmare on Friday. Olson finished the game with 13 points to go along with six rebounds, an assist and a blocked shot.
BHS (9-10) locked up two weeks ago the fourth seed in this week’s District 11 tournament in Velva. The tourney’s top four teams will advance to the Region 6 finals in Minot.
