Camp Metigoshe has been selected as one of the 51 winners from each state. In the sixth annual Tom’s of Maine “50 States for Good” community giving program the organization will receive $10,000 to fund and support camp programming. Metigoshe is committed to bringing diverse communities together to experience community in God’s creation.

“We are honored to have been chosen by Tom’s of Maine in recognition of our commitment to being a positive presence in our community and in the region,” said Rev. Jon Halvorson, executive director for Metigoshe Ministries. “Funding from our ‘50 States for Good’ award will help to support programs like our camp garden, high ropes course and other areas where we work to bring campers together across age, culture and other boundaries that too often separate us.”

“So many important grassroots organizations bring goodness to communities every day,” said Susan Dewhirst, goodness programs manager at Tom’s of Maine. “For the first time we’re awarding more than $500,000 in project funding for a non-profit in every state and the District of Columbia that will go directly toward helping people nationwide and the planet.”
