The Westhope-Newburg (W-N) boys’ basketball team is still searching for its first win of the season following a pair of losses last week.

W-N opened its week last Tuesday with a 67-54 loss at Drake-Anamoose (D-A). The Sioux found themselves down 31-15 at halftime and couldn’t get back into the game despite 27 points in the fourth-quarter.

Freshman Tate Wyman led W-N with 17 points against the Raiders.

The Sioux then also dropped an 83-53 decision on the road against Sawyer last Friday. The Flashes led 39-29 at the break before blowing the game open in the second half.

Wyman again led W-N in scoring with 28 points.

The Sioux (0-13) visit Towner-Granville-Upham (T-G-U) on Wednesday. W-N will then host Velva on Friday in Westhope starting at 7:15 p.m.
