A four-game week for Dakota College at Bottineau’s (DCB) women’s basketball game ended in the Ladyjacks settling for an even split.

The week began in Glendive, Mont., on Monday when the Ladyjacks downed Dawson Community College (DCC) by a 66-56 count.

DCB’s guards led the way against the Buccaneers. Chelsea Frazier ended the game with 32 points, while Imani Scott picked up 19.

CATS SLASH LADYJACKS

DCB then returned home on Thursday to take on North Dakota State College of Science (NDSCS). This game didn’t go as well for the Ladyjacks, however, as they fell 81-76 to the Wildcats.

Frazier, the Mon-Dak Conference player of the week from the week before, and Scott were DCB’s leading lights yet again against NDSCS. Scott finished with a game-high 33 points, while Frazier picked up a double-double by posting 16 points and 10 rebounds.

DCB center and Bottineau native Whitney Brandvold also ended the game in double-digits in scoring with 10 points.

DCB WEATHERS STORM

Next up for the Ladyjacks on Saturday was a visit from Fort Berthold for a make-up game after the teams’ scheduled game earlier this season was postponed.

DCB defeated the Lady Storm 93-83 in overtime in a game DCB arguably should’ve had wrapped up in regulation.

The Ladyjacks opened on a 16-2 run and led 37-30 at the half. Fort Berthold fought back in the second half, though, and an Alexis Archambault buzzer-beater from the halfway line tied the game at 78-78 and forced the extra period.

DCB regained its composure in overtime and outscored its visitors 15-5 in the final frame.

The Ladyjacks did themselves a big favor from the free throw line in overtime, too, by hitting all seven of their shots from the charity stripe.

Scott finished with a game-high 36 points, while Frazier posted 32.

DCB FALLS TO ROYALS

The Ladyjacks then visited Lake Region State (LRSC) on Sunday afternoon and fell 96-62 to the Royals.

Frazier finished the game in Devils Lake with a team-high 22 points.

DCB (16-6) has a much easier slate this week. There’s just the one game, as the Ladyjacks visit Canadian Mennonite University on Thursday.

The Ladyjacks will then visit Bismarck State next Monday.
