On Jan. 2 the cold weather that over took Bottineau from the artic circle left one man without a truck after it caught fire and totaled the vehicle.

Tyler Forsberg, who lives just north of Bottineau on the Town Line, started his 2004 Dodge truck early that morning to warm-up. While waiting for the truck to warm-up, he stepped inside his shop, but when he came out the interior of the truck was on fire.

The Bottineau Fire Department was called to the scene and spent a half an hour caring for the fire. The vehicle is considered a total lost.

What started the fire is uncertain, but the fire department has ruled it an accident and there will be no further investigation.
