Serious accident on Highway 5

A one car rollover happened in Bottineau County on Saturday, Jan. 17, which sent four individuals to emergency rooms in Bottineau and Ward counties.
The vehicle was traveling on Highway 5 from Minot to the Bottineau Winter Park when the vehicle hit ice on the west side of the Souris River Bridge, entered the north ditch and rolled.
The Bottineau County Sheriff’s Department, Bottineau Fire Department, Bottineau Ambulance and other emergency response teams were called to the scene.
According to the Bottineau County Sheriff’s Department, there were four individuals in the vehicle and some of the individuals were thrown from the vehicle.
The Bottineau Fire Department utilized their equipment to open a door to assists the ambulance crews at the scenes.
Two of the individuals were taken to St. Andrew’s Health Center in Bottineau, while the other two individuals were taken to Minot’s Trinity Health Center.
There were no fatalities in the accident.
Editor’s Note: The names of the individuals in the rollover were requested from the Bottineau County Sheriff’s Department which was in charge of the accident. However, the requests was denied to the Bottineau Courant because the Bottineau County Sheriff’s Department is still investigating the accident.
