Tax and permits up and down in the city

The city of Bottineau has released its financial numbers on occupancy tax, restaurant -lodging tax and building permits, which shows increases and decrease from 2013 in these three entities.
OCCUPANCY
When it comes to occupancy tax, Bottineau saw a decrease from last year by $2,017.
In 2014, the city’s occupancy tax ended at $29,581, which was a decrease of 7 percent from 2013 that ended its year at $31,598.
The following gives the tax revenue for each month in 2014:

RESTAURAUNT-LODGING
Restaurant-Lodging for 2014 saw an increase from 2013 by close to $3,000.
This year ended at $64,018 for restaurant-lodging taxes. When compared to 2013, it year ended at $61,097.
The 5 percent increase for 2014 was as follows:

BUILDING PERMITS
Building permits in Bottineau dropped in 2014 from 2013 and 2012.
In 2014, 77 building permits were registered in the city, which was down by nine in 2013 which saw 86 building permits. If compared by 2012, which saw 97 building permits that year, permits have declined by 26 percent in the past two years.
Of the 77 building permits in 2014, the numbers are as follows:

September – 1
October – 4
November – 5
December – 4
According to the city, the reason for the declines in occupancy tax and building permits is somewhat uncertain; but, when it comes to restaurant-lodging taxes it is believed that certain construction projects in town, along with oil and tourism was the reason for the increase.
