Sioux hoopsters split in Minot

MINOT - The Westhope-Newburg boys' and girls' basketball teams suffered very different fates last week during action that took place in Minot.

The Sioux's boys' basketball team fell 44-37 to Rolla on Saturday on the first day of the Hoopster Classic.

The loss dropped W-N to 0-4 on the season. The Sioux had a chance on Monday night o pick up their first win of the season in a game against Our Redeemer's after press time.

W-N's girls' team defeated Tioiga 45-27 in a game on Monday afternoon at Our Redeemer's.

The Sioux boys will visit St. John next Monday before hosting Kenmare in Newburg on Thursday. W-N's girls will visit Drake-Anamoose on Tuesday and host Rugby in Westhope on Friday.
