Community Christmas Party

It has been a dream of Chamber director Clint Reinoehl to hold a community Christmas party in the city of Bottineau for a couple of years; and, on Saturday his dream finally came true when the party came together with lots of fun activities for individuals to enjoy in the celebration of the season.
The Community Christmas Party took a couple of years to become a reality due to scheduling conflicts and stormy weather, but on Saturday the sun was out, the temperature was warm and the spirits of those who brought the community party together were filled with cheer.
The party kicked-off with a Holiday Parade of Lights where a number of floats came down Main Street filled with holiday lights and happy greeters making the parade route a festive time.
From the parade on Main Street, the celebration went to the Forestry Park where kids were given the opportunity to play games and activities, hay rides were given in the park, hot beverages were served and caroling took place around fire barrels.
The most touching part of the celebration belonged to the true meaning of Christmas, the birth of the Christ child, which was demonstrated through a Living Nativity display sponsored by the area churches of Bottineau.
Reinoehl was pleased with the Community Christmas Party.
“It finally happened,” Reinoehl said. “And, it was a perfect day and great event which people really seemed to enjoy.
“We are already planning for the future,” Reinoehl added. “We are thinking about an outdoor skating rink in the park, fireworks, making it a day long event and much more.”
