Stars win one, lose one in Minot

MINOT - The Bottineau High girls’ basketball team opened its 2014 season with a win and a loss at the Shootout on the Prairie tournament last weekend in Minot.

BHS opened tournament play on Friday during a 56-52 loss to New Town. The Stars led by as many as 11 points in the second half, but New Town stormed back to pick up a win.

Bottineau recovered well on Saturday, however, in defeating Stanley 56-48 at Minot Auditorium.

The Stars (1-1) are now off until their home opener next Monday against the Lady Dragons of Dunseith.
