Another year, another bowl berth for the Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) football team.

Last Tuesday, an invitation was extended to the No. 17 Lumberjacks to take part in the first game of the 2014 Graphic Edge Bowl against Ellsworth Community College (Iowa). The Graphic Edge Bowl is a two-game junior college bowl event taking place in Cedar Falls, Iowa on Dec. 7.

Both games will take place at the UNI-Dome. The venue is normally the home of the University of Northern Iowa football program.

DCB (8-2) played in its football program’s first-ever bowl game last December. The Lumberjacks fell in the Salt City Bowl in Hutchinson, Kan., to host school Hutchinson Community College.

Ellsworth will come into the Graphic Edge Bowl with a 3-8 record. However, the Panthers play in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC), one of the toughest junior college leagues in the country.

Iowa Western Community College, the ICCAC’s champion, will face East Mississippi in the NJCAA junior college national championship game in Biloxi, Miss., on Dec. 7.

“They play in one of the best conferences in juco ball,” DCB head coach Tim Pfeifer said of Ellsworth. “They have some of the toughest competition in the country every week, so you can’t take too much out of their record.

“They’re a very good team and they’ll give us a lot to have to handle.”

For any DCB fans planning to go to the game, tickets will be sold at the UNI-Dome starting at 10 a.m. on the day of the game. Kickoff is set for one hour later.

Tickets for adults are priced at $13, while students can get in for $8.
