Ladyjacks improve to 5-0 at Lake Region State tourney

DEVILS LAKE - The Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) women’s basketball team remains perfect on the season after picking up two wins last weekend at the Lake Region Classic.

The Ladyjacks (5-0) defeated an alumnae team from Lake Region State College 86-73 on Saturday to open tournament play. DCB guard Chelsea Frazier led the Ladyjacks in scoring with 25 points, while fellow sophomore Whitney Brandvold also lit up the Royals alumnae for 22 points of her own.

DCB then returned to action on Sunday afternoon and defeated the junior varsity squad from Jamestown College by a 73-61 count.

DCB freshman Mattie Schmitt picked up 24 points.
The Ladyjacks will host Turtle Mountain on Tuesday before taking part in North Dakota State College of Science’s tournament this weekend.
