Seven Westhope-Newburg-Glenburn (W-N-G) football players were included on the list of nine-man All-Region 3 honors that were released on Monday morning.

Six Sioux were named to the All-Region 3 team, while a seventh W-N-G player was handed an honorable mention.

Chance Kitzman, a wide receiver and outside linebacker for the Sioux, was the only W-N-G senior named to the All-Region 3 team. Four Sioux juniors - Chase Conway (running back, middle linebacker), Reese Schell (quarterback, middle linebacker), Chas Tofteland (guard, defensive lineman) and Dustin Weeks (tight end, defensive end) - also made the list.

Freshman wide receiver and cornerback Trent Marquart also made the All-Region 3 team.

W-N-G junior center and defensive end Tim Kraft was handed an honorable mention on the list.

Led by Sioux head coach Tom Nesvold, W-N-G finished its 2014 season with an 8-2 record, good for second place in Region 3.

The Sioux saw their campaign end on Oct. 25 during a 48-26 home loss to Grant County-Flasher in the first round of the state nine-man playoffs.
