WILLISTON - The Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) volleyball team saw its 2014 season end on Saturday at the NJCAA Region XIII tournament.
The Ladyjacks started a rough final week of the season with two 3-0 losses, first at home to Jamestown’s junior varsity team on Wednesday and then at the North Dakota State College of Science the following day. On Saturday in Williston, DCB suffered that same fate twice more.
In-state rival Bismarck State defeated DCB in straight sets in the teams’ first match of the double-elimination tournament. Later that day, host school Williston State downed the Ladyjacks by a 3-0 count.
DCB ends its season with a 4-21 record in non-exhibition matches under first-year head coach Allison Scherr.
The end of the season marks the end of six Ladyjacks’ time with DCB’s volleyball program.
Jacey Axtman, Lexi Barkley, Katelyn Lawler, Ashley Nickle, Lauren Pederson and Tessa Walters were all honored before their final home match on Tuesday against Jamestown.
