Codi Rybchinski and her parents, Bruce and Shelley Bullinger, have started a new venture outside of their daily jobs which will take them back to former jobs they used to have in life.

“My parents and I were talking about how fun it would be to run a little side business,” Rybchinski said. “My parents owned the “original” Dario in Valley City, and they really enjoyed it. My grandparents used to own the Dairy Queen in town here years ago and my mom gained a lot of her expertise there.

“I used to work at Mikey’s Eastside Drive Inn (Dario now) in high school and really enjoyed it,” Rybchinski continued. “So, we started talking about the ‘What if….’, when the time came for putting in a bid, we were awarded the concession stand.”

The name of their concession is called Hat Trick Concessions, and they will be offering a full service concession stand menu along with hockey supplies.

“We have a variety of food for our patrons. Items like sloppy joes, hot ham and cheese, taco in a bag,” Rybchinski said.  “We also have snacks like popcorn, chips, candy, and cookies, and we will doing caramel rolls, long johns, fruit and pop tarts, as well, and caramel rolls and long johns in the mornings.

“We also sell hockey supplies like tape, skate guards, laces, wax, practice socks and mouth guards,” Rybchinski added.

The schedule of when they will be open is not yet completely set, but it will be in the near future.

“We would like to be open from 4 to 7 p.m. during the week with every other Thursday off; and then, open during weekends. This first week is trial and error, but hopefully we’ll have a set schedule by the end of October,” Rybchinski said.

“Public skating, hockey games and figure skating performances we will be opened.  We also want to be available for our hockey and figure skating families that are at the rink for their practices.”
Rybchinski and her parents stated that they are pleased to be serving the community arena patrons.

“We are just very excited to start a new adventure,” Rybchinski said. “And, we appreciate all the compliments and business we’ve had so far.”
