Courtney Vandal has accepted a position with Dakota College at Bottineau and will serve the college as its foundation director.

Vandal takes over for Brandy Simpson who accepted a position with Thrivent Financial in Bottineau.

Vandal was born and raised in Bottineau and is a 2007 Bottineau High School graduate.

Vandal attended North Dakota State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in exercise science with a minor in psychology.

As the foundation director, her goals are numerous.
“I want to promote quality higher education and offer support to students, faculty and staff,” Vandal said. “I also want to efficiently facilitate donated or solicited funds for student support and campus development.”

Vandal has wasted no time in support of the students at DCB through a program she is utilizing to gain financial aid for the students through scholarships.

“I am working on a great opportunity that I feel everyone should know about,” Vandal said. “It’s called the North Dakota Higher Education Challenge Fund and it’s a program that for every dollar I can raise it will be put toward an endowed scholarship the state will match $.50. It’s an easy way to get, essentially, free money for DCB student academic scholarships.”

Vandal stated that she is pleased to be the director of DCB’s foundation.

“I’m excited to get out into the community and create lasting relationships throughout the area with everyone,” she said. “I’m looking forward to finding support for DCB and its students.”
