Janaye Hellman has accepted a position with the Good Samaritan Society-Bottineau (GSS-B) and will serve the center as its activity director. Hellman replaces Liz Miller who is retiring from GSS-B at the end of this month.

Hellman was born and raised in Grand Forks, N.D. She is a graduate of Red River High School and earned her bachelor and master degrees in occupational therapy from the University of North Dakota.

Since she earned her masters in 2013, she has been employed in the acute care inpatient department at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.

Hellman accepted her position at the GSS-B in September and has found her new position rewarding.

“I love it. It is really nice here,” Hellman said. “The residents are awesome, everyone is really nice to work with and it has been a good experience.”

Hellman accepted her position in Bottineau because of her love for the elderly.

“The elderly are always so kind, so forgiving, so appreciative,” she said. “They like interaction and I love talking with them. They just bring smiles to my face because they are so cute.”

In her spare time, Hellman enjoys outdoor activities like golfing, hiking, bonfires, lake activities and snowmobiling.
