Ladyjacks struggle at Williston State

WILLISTON - The Dakota College at Bottineau (DCB) volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Mon-Dak Conference rival Williston State (WSC) on Wednesday at The Well.
With the 25-12, 25-12 and 25-17 sweep, the Tetons of WSC improved to 6-3 on the season. DCB fell to 1-5.
The Ladyjacks’ loss in Williston was already DCB’s second defeat at the hands of the Tetons. Williston also swept DCB 25-19, 25-17 and 25-22 on Aug. 29 at Bismarck State’s Labor Day tournament.
In Wednesday’s rematch, DCB freshman Mattie Schmitt led the Jacks with four kills, while sophomore setter Katelyn Lawler record seven assists.
DCB was then slated to visit Northland CTC in Thief River Falls, Minn., on Saturday. However, the Jacks will now face both Northland and Rainy River CC (Minn.) in Thief River Falls on Oct. 11.
