For Finley Webb, his summer vacation at Lake Metigoshe has been a busy one which has left the lake with a brand new nature trail for the public to use.
Finley, who is 10 years old, is the step-son to Peter Wold Jr., and at times Wold brings his family to his childhood cabin at Lake Metigoshe which is owned by his grandmother, Olive Benson.
This summer while at the lake, Finley made the decision to make a nature trail not only for his family to utilize, but for anybody who would like to utilize the trail.
“The nature trail is a great way to hike, snowshoe, cross-country ski and mountain bike on,” Finley said. “The trail is 0.02 miles long. It starts at the Benson Cabin and ends at the cabin road where Dwane Getzlaff lives.”
The trail, which has been named Finley Nature Trail, shows the hard work Finley placed into the trail. He has also done some creativeness in his design of the trail which offers some unique items.
“If you were to make a left at the cabin road and make two more lefts you would go in a loop,” Finley said. “It has a path near the end of the trail that has fire material such as firewood, dry leafs, pine needles, pine cones and dirt for putting the fire out.”
Finley is enjoying his trail, but more so he is excited to see others take advantage of the trail. “All in all, the nature trail is a great trail,” Finley said.
