Michael and Laura Siercks have purchased the Chug-A-Lug Lounge in Landa and have renovated the establishment to meet their own style of bar.

Michael, who is a farmer, and Laura who owns her own private practice as a social worker in Minot, have retired from their jobs and taken over Landa’s local bar with lots of new ideas for the establishment.

“This is something we always wanted to do,” Michael said. “We gutted it, remodeled it and made it ours.”

The first change was the name, which switched from the Chug-A-Lug Lounge to GreaseZerks Bar and Grill, a play on words which includes the couple’s surname and grease zerks in the local area through farm and oil field production.

The renovations for their new business have a Harley Davidson motorcycle theme with a stainless steel bar and wainscoting, along with a pool table and televisions for their patrons to enjoy while in the bar.

The Siercks are currently constructing a kitchen so they can serve chicken strips, french fries, onion rings, pizzas and perhaps hamburgers in the future.

GreaseZerks will continue on as a full-service bar, which will include a variety of beers, wines and liquors that will also include on and off sales from the business.

The bar’s hours will be Monday through Friday from noon to 1 a.m.
