The Antler Port of Entry for U.S. Custom and Border Protection was closed down on Wednesday afternoon due to a propane leak at the entry on the U.S. side.

According to Brian King, public affairs liaison for U.S. Custom and Border Protection, the leak came from an underground tank.

“Recent underground flooding to the area may have shifted the tank and caused a leak,” King said.

No one was injured in the accident, but the port closed its facility to commercial and passenger vehicle traffic and rerouted the vehicles to ports in Sherwood, N.D., and Westhope, N.D.

The port’s service provider, Cenex, was called to the scene immediately and conducted an inspection and determined the site was safe to reopen, which took place at 4:30 p.m. the same day.

The Antler Port of Entry is open Monday through Sunday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
