Metigoshe Ministries to open new playground Wednesday

Organizers from Metigoshe Ministries are set to officially open on Wednesday a new playground adjacent to the Ministries’ Christian Center on Lake Loop Road southeast of Lake Metigoshe.

Metigoshe Ministries was recently named the recipient of Bayer CropScience’s “More For Everyone” award. Bayer CropScience is the agricultural arm of the German chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer.

As part of the award, Bayer CropScience donated $6,000 to Metigoshe Ministries toward the construction of a new playground.

“Putting up a new playground had been a priority of our retreat center,” said Deb Syvertson, the retreat director at Metigoshe Ministries. “A new playground will benefit all the family reunions and youth groups and guests from the Metigoshe Lutheran Church across the street here.

“The church has Sunday School and schooling year-around, so it’s nice that the kids will now be able to walk just up the road and get to play on the playground.”

Metigoshe Ministries’ day care center also received a grant from Bayer CropScience.

Wednesday’s celebration of the playground, hosted by Bayer CropScience, will begin at 3 p.m.
